Dundee Butcher

Born and raised in Texas, I found myself moving to London 20 years ago with my four children. After a few years my children began moving back to the US for college and I had the time and opportunity to pursue my love of flowers by training with and then working for some of the top florists in London.

In 2013 I moved to Healdsburg in Northern California and decided to open a flower school and events business. I quickly recognized that the formal floristry I had been trained in was a great foundation to work from-but was not what most Californians were looking for. California was much more about local farm grown flowers and informal loose design. Sustainability was always a passion of mine and clearly key where I live in California.

In my teaching and my work for clients, I have tried to celebrate the natural beauty that surrounds us. Using locally grown flowers and foraged materials, I have encouraged people to recognize that (not always obvious) beauty and infect them with the enthusiasm that I have for it.

I am constantly amazed by the connection between nature, culture and spirituality; people, pods and plants! I hope some of what I pass along will open your eyes, hearts and minds a little wider to the beauty that surrounds us.
